Saltaire Open House Arts Trail 2007

Found this on youtube a few days back our house has its starring role at about 2min30 for about 30 seconds!!!! We had over 400 people through the house over the two weekend. Me and steph ate too much carrot cake and drank too much wine throughout the four days!!!!!!

Also the novelty of "you've got a lovely garden" wore off very quickly!!

Kylie: The Exhibition

It was steve's birthday yesterday so after opening all his pressies i suprised him by whisking him off to manchester for the day and took him to the kylie exhibition which opened last weekend.

I saw the exhibition when i was Sydney last year and thought it'd be great to take steve to see it in manchester. I'd also bought him the book for his bday. The exhibition has all her costumes from pop videos, tours and appearances including the 50p hotpants!

After that we shopped til we dropped!

Yorkshire Living Magazine - Our Garden!!!!!

Well here you go this is June/July issue of Yorkshire Living Magazine with Steve and mines little mansion in Saltaire. Its great publicty for us with steve exhibition during the Saltaire festival in September and also helps us with the push for the best backyard in Saltaire competition this year.... 2 wins in 2 years???

Note in the article it "I built this, I did this, that and the other, I I I" hmmmmmm he owes me big time, the cheeky minx!!!!!

Edinburgh Trip

Our friend Rich invited me and steve upto Edinburgh for the weekend as his ex has an apartment up there and it's just been refurbed and he wanted us to test run it. The train only cost us £22 and free accomodation - i'd be rude not to!

Sadly no touristy shots really, unless you wanted interior shots of H&M, Zara, Jenners and john Lewis??? no thought not. The weather was fab i even caught a bit of a tan??!

Me and Rich went to see the old queens yacht britannia, steve's could'nt be arsed so went shopping! The thing that suprised me was that the interior was very simply decorated particularly the old queens bedroom, the living room looked a bit like south fork though.

We also went to the botanical gardens where steve had "plant issues" and photograph almost every single plant in the palm houses - getting ideas for the back garden comp and his artwork!

Mediterreno Opening Night

A new bar and restaurant opened in saltaire last night and we were there with steve to plug his business to the champagned up locals!

Steve was commissioned to do about 20 pictures for the bar and restaurrant and they looked fab. Looks like he's got some good leads as well possibly a well known hotel chain and also a well know bar chain!!!!!!

Very exciting!

Damaged Goods & Nightmare Meal

Steve's p****d off at the moment as we went to the bar / restaurant last which has bought 20 of his canvases and found that they'd glued them to the wall and then nail gunned straight through the pictures???!!!

Obviously he was'nt very happy as it had taken him ages to produce and we are exhibiting some of his other work alongside the buggered up pictures!! The bar has bought them, so in theory they can do what they want but it still reflects on steve's abilities.

Anyway we went to the same restaurant last night and it was crap, steve's mum and dad came over for a meal we arrived at 8.30 and out main course did'nt arrive 10.30pm. By then i was growling and doing the silent treatment and steve was getting more and more stressed.

A few free bottles of vino and an odd breadstick won't get us rushing back....

Steve Simpson Interiors

Steve's doing really well with his new designs, we had an exhibition a few weeks back at clarks restaurant in heaton.

We'd been there since 10am setting up for a 12noon opening while leila sloped in at 11.30am and was flying round like a bull in a china shop. she's was particulalrly p****d when the restaurant had stacked 100 chairs in front of some of her artwork.

Me and steph once again smuggled in an odd bottle of vino and a very enjoyable afternoon!!!!

anyway we had a busy day and steve's made a few pennies, he's also got a commission from a local restaurant to do 20 pics for them. YEAH!!!!!

Steve's new art exhibition

steve's got another art exhibition tomorrow afternoon. he's been working on a new range based upon the ceramic tiles stuck on gaudi's buildings in barcelona.

He's been working his guts off and i think they look cool.

i'll report back after the exhibtion a> how many he's sold and b> how many glasses of vino me and steph can drink before discracing ourselves!!!

I've just started his own arty farty weblog thing for his pics and photos from exhibtion, please drop by and say hi! there's not much on at the moment as we're adding the stuff this week.

Rocky Horror @ St G's

Well well well, what an entertaining week i've had at St G's this week.

We've had the rocky horror show on for the full week. It's the first time we've had such a product at george's and it worked really really well, i think the atmopshere was better than the alhambra. Whats more we sold more tickets too. over 8000!!!

The picture is of steve and steph at the aftershow party on friday night. it was about 2.00am so they're are looking a bit worse for wear. Steve looked more like a rough hooker from thornton road!

99.9% of the audience have been great. Good laugh and very friendly, but there's always one...

Friday night i had a run in with a customer, (can't go into it touch much i'm afraid). Lets just say he deserved to be taken away by the police. He got his come up ance as he was bundle into the back of the police car wearing red stillettos, stockings and a delighful basque.....

the police were pissing themselves laughing!!!

need i say more :0)

Steve's still in canada

God i'm pathetic, i haven't seen steve for two weeks - its not good. I wished we planned it a bit better and i wish i had a few pennies so i could have gone out to vancouver for the last week. But hey ho!

Anyway he's back in a week but i still won't see him for another ten days as he's doing the rounds in portsmouth and the isle of wight seeing the relatives.

i tried to tempt him back up earlier with a cheap flight from southampton to leeds bradford for only £30. no luck though.
