An Evening with Lesley Garrett

It was a bit of a mad one on saturday as we had john and ruth's wedding followed by a mad dash to St G's to see Lesley Garrett in concert.

We had some great seats - front row centre dress circle. It pays to work at these places sometimes!

I got steve her autographs, another one for the collection.

The picture her is of her publicity shots and also it the front cover of our bradford theatres brochure. The photo isn't the most flattering as she looks half p***ed in the photo, all she needs is an empty bottle of champers next to her.

Ruth & Johns Wedding

Me and Steve were lucky enough to be invited to ruth and johns wedding at the registry office in york. Ruth looked fab, her wedding dress was made especially for her and was of a late 1700's design. The weather held out too, it was a really informal day. sadly we had to leave early as we were off to the lesley garrett gig that night at St George's (more of that later!) So we missed the ghost walk and the beers at the three legged mare... Congratulations!!

Diva Espana!

Well the next big party is planned for the Saturday 8th July to celebrate steve's birthday a few days earlier. Myrtle Mansion is turning latino for the night with a fiesta of sangria, maracas, salsa and julio inglesias!

We've just bought a party pack full of spanish tat including fans, flags, banners, maracas, castanets, hats and a pinto donkey?? (the donkey you hit with a stick and sweets fall out! - it is legal!)

Oh just got a message via friends reunited from one of my old partners crime at the barbican. Hopefully we're meeting up for a night out in leeds.

Scorchio! and BBQ Overkill

Why oh why can't we have weather like this all the time? Can't they tow the UK about 500 miles south?

Sunny weather makes everyone so much happier and whats more with the england match, its been a great atmosphere for the past few days.

The downside to this weather is droopy tree ferns and ponds whcih evaporate to nothing in a day!! We had an emergency top up last night as the girls in the pond weren't happy at all as there was only a 1/3 of the water left.

A strange thing has happened with the weather, we normally only have one sunny day and then it rains. But, because its been like this for at least a week everyone has planned bbq and parties and are trying to cram them all in this weekend! We are also cramming as ours is tomorrow afternoon.

I'll update later about my greek burgers and lemon and corriander chicken...
